Hickory wood bowl
A highly figured Hickory wood bowl. One of the harder American woods, hickory makes an outstanding bowl that has the durability to become an heirloom.
The bowl is highly figured and has a pleasing shape. Two black lines are incised into the outside to provide a bit more decoration and to aid in holding the bowl.
It can be put to work: serving food; as a salad bowl; holding snacks like potato chips or popcorn; holding knickknacks, craft items, or whatever comes to mind.
If used as a serving dish, remember to wash and dry it by hand afterwards. Never leave it standing in water, and don’t put anything wood in a dishwasher, microwave or oven. If you want to occasionally spiff it up, rub in a little food-safe oil, let it sit a while, then buff it off. Alternatively, just let it develop a patina through use and age.
Its approximate measurements are 9-1/2” wide by 3-1/2” tall. Sturdily built, it is a little thicker and heavier for durability.
