Lovely Ash utility bowl
Made from the famously hard wood of the ash tree, also used to make baseball bats, this bowl should last a lifetime with reasonable care.
The bowl can be put to a variety of uses: food, snacks, knick-knacks, jewelry (you would need a lot of jewelry), hobby items, etc. If used for food, wash and dry it by hand, leave it out to air-dry overnight and NEVER put anything made of wood in a dishwasher, oven, or microwave.
But it’s not just a workhorse, it has a softer, decorative side with beautiful grain, and two black incisions on the outside. Not coincidentally, the incisions are inset into a large bead, all of which aid in holding the bowl.
The bowl’s approximate measurements are 9” across by 3-1/2” high and weighs 11 oz. It can be spiffed up by rubbing a little food-safe oil, letting it sit for a while, then buffing it off. Alternatively, you can let it develop a natural patina which improves with age and use.
